Rev. Run’s Scripted Netflix Series Cancelled

Rev. Run’s Scripted Netflix Series Cancelled
It looks like Run’s house is closing its doors. Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons‘ scripted Netflix series, “All About the Washingtons,” starring he and his wife Justine Simmons has officially been cancelled. It only lasted one season. As previously reported, last year Rev. Run’s announced that ABC and Netflix picked up the comedy series. The former Run DMC rapper shared the news on social media. He said:
“God Showed up. And gave us double for my trouble . Two powerhouse”s behind us .. ABC studios and Netflix.. It’s scripture. When you pray for people God blesses you double! (But GOD.). Check this scripture. Job 42:10 says The Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. … And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning”
According to reports, the series had a rocky start with several companies and studios passing on their opportunity to bring “All About the Washingtons” to life before ABC and Netflix agreed to produce it. This August, the series was met with poor reviews – including a Rotten Tomatoes score of 40%.
Unfortunately, this isn’t Rev. Run’s first cancellation in recent years. He and Tyrese’s talk show, “It’s Not You It’s Men,” was cancelled by the OWN Network in 2016 after one season.
