Oprah Clarifies What Was Going Through Her Mind While Tasting Chicken From An Old Resurfaced Video

Oprah is providing some context to a throwback video from the “Oprah Winfrey Show” which surfaced on social media recently. In the ancient video, Oprah is tasting a chicken dish one of her guests cooked for her, and the former host displays a rather peculiar look on her face, and is then questioned if she likes the dish. Winfrey replies by asking if the chicken had salt and pepper, and the guest responded no.

As the audience laughed, Winfrey continued to chew but seemed a little amazed there was little seasoning on the chicken. Oprah shared a video to Instagram to provide clarification on what was going through her mind in that moment,

Here’s the deal: this is what I was thinking. I always wanted anybody who came on the show, no matter what they did, to have a good experience. And i also wanted to stay in my own truth while allowing them to have that good experience. I was having a moment of trying to decide, do I want to go in there and have a great time, what is my real moment of truth? Because the truth for me, I’m used to having salt and pepper on my chicken. That’s what I was thinking. This chicken need some salt and pepper.
