Ariana Grande Gets A New Tattoo That’s All Wrong
Ariana Grande just proved that you really need to do your research before you decide to permanently mark your body with a tattoo in a foreign language.
Chart-topping singer Ariana Grande is learning a hard lesson after she recently got a tattoo that doesn’t translate to what she thought it did. To commemorate her new hit song “7 Rings,” Grande decided to get a Japanese tattoo of the same words, but things didn’t exactly turn out the way she had hoped.
When Grande posted a photo of her new tattoo on the inside of her hand, fans quickly pointed put that it didn’t say “7 Rings” at all, but instead was tatted as shichirin, which translates to “small charcoal grill” in Japanese.
After fans called her out on her mistake, Grande took to social media to send out a series of (since deleted) responses addressing that matter. She began with:
“Indeed, I left out ‘???,’ which should have gone in between. It hurt like f–k n still looks tight. I wouldn’t have lasted one more symbol lmao. But this spot also peels a ton and won’t last so if I miss it enough I’ll suffer thru the whole thing next time.”
She continued, adding information about the longevity about the tattoo:
“It’s 99% gonna go away he said. but I wanted to feel it lol. he was like that’s the most painful spot for sure. i was like ………… i’m curious.”
She ended her explanation about the tattoo error, saying:
“…also that’s how u end up w tiny grill / circle / tambourine on your hand. it’s my favorite one now tho so pls leave me and my tambourine grill alone. thank u.
Meanwhile, Grande is making history with “7 Rings,” as it makes her the first artist whose first two Billboard Hot 100 Leaders debuted at number one.
