Kim Kardashian Hits Fashion Retailer W/ $10 Mill Lawsuit For Using Her Name & Likeness
Reality star and beauty/fashion mogul Kim Kardashian West is simply not here for fast fashion retailers knocking off the designer clothes she wears and making customers think that she is secretly working with them.
After seemingly calling out Fashion Nova, she is now going after online retailer Missguided, courtesy of a brand-new lawsuit.
Earlier this week, Kim Kardashian West vented on Twitter in a series of long posts about her increasing frustrations with fast fashion retailers, specifically Fashion Nova, knocking off her couture designer clothes literally hours after she wears them.
And earlier this month, Kim jokingly called out ‘fast fashion brands’ on a social media post.
Now, Kardashian West is aiming to take down another retailer, Missguided, that she says is using her name and likeness without her permission, as well as continuously knocking off the clothes she wears.

In a message through her attorney Michael Kump, explains the basis of her lawsuit:
“Missguided does not merely replicate the looks of these celebrities as seen on red carpets, in paparazzi photos, and in social media posts. Missguided systematically uses the names and images of Kardashian and other celebrities to advertise and spark interest in its website and clothing.”
Kump continued, adding that another issue Kardashian West has with Missguided is that the company continues to post photos of her on the company Instagram page and tag her in posts, leading many to falsely believe that she is affiliated with the brand.
The message continued, stating:
“Recently, for example, after Kardashian posted a photo on Instagram of a dress that was made for her Missguided quickly responded with its own Instagram post boasting that it would be ripping off the design within ‘a few days.'” Missguided purposefully inserted Kardashian’s Instagram username (@kimkardashian) into its post to capitalize on her celebrity status and social media following in promoting the sale of its upcoming product. Missguided’s U.S. website has included entire pages that are devoted solely to the sale of clothing inspired by Kardashian, and on which Kardashian’s name and likeness are prominently used without her permission to promote the products.”
Kardashian West is suing for violation of her right of publicity and trademark infringement, among other claims, and is seeking at least $10 million in damages and an injunction barring Missguided from using her name, image and likeness.
