Daytime talk show host Wendy Williams pleased some of her fans when she recently filed for divorce from her husband Kevin Hunter after over 20+ years of marriage, amidst multiple reports of infidelity. However, one of Williams’ former friends is apparently so happy she’s done with Hunter that he’s invited her to dinner—none other than Charlamagne Tha God.

Wendy Williams is attempting to get her life in order and clean house, meaning that now that she has officially filed for divorce from soon-to-be ex Kevin Hunter, allegedly fired him from her talk show and told him to move out of their shared home—she’s ready to move forward with other issues in her life like mending broken friendships.

One such friendship is the close one she had in the past with ex-co-host Charlamagne Tha God when they were on the radio together. Charlamagne has not been shy about his negative feelings about Hunter in the last few months when Williams was going through a multitude of personal issues. He explicitly blamed Hunter for Williams falling off the wagon, landing herself in a sober house to cope with her cocaine addiction, and detailed his long affair with alleged mistress Sharina Hudson.

In his previous comments about Hunter’s alleged affair and its impact on his friendship with Williams, he said:

“I just want to reiterate, Kevin Hunteris a sucker and he’s been a sucker. He’s been a sucker for Sharina Hudson, AKA Nicki, for a long time. You know that’s the reason I don’t deal with the Hunters anymore. The reason I don’t deal with Kevin and Wendy anymore is because Kevin thought that I was trying to hook Sharina up with Wax back in 2009. Mind you, she liked Wax, so I had nothing to do with that. But he thought I was trying to hook Sharina up with Wax. That’s why he stopped dealing with me. I don’t know what he told Wendy.That’s why I’ve never really been mad at Wendy because I don’t know what he told her. It’s not like he said, ‘Hey Charlamagne tried to hook my side chick up with my homeboy.”

He also didn’t hold back when he placed the blame on Hunter for Williams’ deterioration over the last few months:

“Wendy Williams needs rehab from her husband Kevin Hunter.This is yet another lie, another half-truth, whatever you want to call it, that’s deflecting from the actual issue, which is the alleged abuse and infidelity from her husband. Like, there’s a difference between being real and being exposed. “Wendy only came out with that yesterday because the ‘Daily Mail’article came out yesterday saying she was on pills and alcohol because of her husband, Kevin Hunter’s, alleged physical abuse and infidelity.”

Now that Williams and Hunter are officially over, she revealed on the latest episode of her talk show that Charlamagne called her and invited her out to dinner:

“I get back to reading my book and my phone rings again. No, it wasn’t [DJ] Boof, it was Charlamagne. Charlamagne wanted to take me for dinner. So, look. So, he says the night and he says the time and I said ‘I can’t go, I’m going out with Boof for dinner.’ Hold on, hold on. So, Charlamagne says, ‘well, I know Boof, why don’t we both take you out?’ So, I said, ‘I’m reading I have my book here, why don’t you call Boof?’ Boof, did he call you? Alright good, so I’ve got a double date.”

Perhaps this dinner date is the start of the former friends mending a relationship that many of their fans hoped would eventually be repaired.
