Wendy Williams – Prior To Filing For Divorce, Cops Were Called To Investigate If Kevin Hunter Was Poisoning Her
While facing rumors that he had a love child with his alleged long-term mistress, Wendy Williams’ estranged husband, Kevin Hunter, was under investigation for possibly poisoning her, according to reports. Back in January, police got an anonymous tip from someone who said they worked for Williams’ production company. They are said to have told authorities that Williams was in danger. They said they were convinced Hunter was giving Williams’ dangerous substances and asked the police to investigate. Police performed a welfare check on her back. At the time, Williams had not yet filed for divorce from Hunter and the two were still living together. Two officers popped up at their New Jersey home and Hunter answered the door.

According to the police report, Hunter was nervous about letting them in after they said they were responding to the anonymous phone call. Hunter reportedly claimed Williams was recovering from a sickness. He ultimately let them in and the two policemen found Williams in her bed with a blanket covering her entire body. Police then asked Hunter to leave so they could have a conversation with Williams without him, but he refused. Williams then told them she was healing from a broken shoulder. When one of the officers asked her if she was being poisoned, she said, “Well I’m very popular.” When he asked her again, she reportedly teared up before denying the claim. The police left once Williams confirmed she was doing okay.
Since then, Williams has filed for divorce from Hunter. The two were married for more than 20 years and have 19-year-old son, Kevin Hunter, Jr.

Hunter released a statement shortly after Williams’ filing.
“28 years ago I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams. At the time, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my wife, but would also change the face of entertainment and the world. I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally. I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans. I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs.”
“No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine. I ask that you please give me and my family privacy as we heal. Thank you.”
He is no longer the executive producer of Williams’ daytime talk show. A rep for the show said,
“Kevin Hunter is no longer an executive producer on ‘The Wendy William’s Show.’”
Neither have yet to comment on this alleged incident.
