Tiffany Haddish Recalls Being Homeless, Hungry & Hurt
Actress/comedian Tiffany Haddish shared a promise she made to herself while reflecting on a very low moment where she was homeless, hungry, scared and hurt. Haddish posted a throw back Thursday photo of herself performing standup, adding how she cried while looking how far she came. Haddish writes,
“I look at this picture and want to cry tears of joy for this Girl. I remember that night. She was homeless, hungry, scared, and hurt. I promised her if she kept faith in God and Herself, We will get to a place where we will be Housed, Over Fed, Less Hurt and Fear Free.”

She continues, adding how thankful she is that she believed in herself enough to over come her lowest moments while still being spiritual.
“I am so Grateful that she Believed. I am so Happy we have come this far and excited about where we will Go. Tiffany Sara Cornilia Haddish I Love and Approve of you and most of all God does too. You are prefect enough for both of us right now and always.”
After posting her throwback photo, several comments of support of Haddish’s reflection were posted including actress Tichina Arnold, mom bear Tina Lawson, and actor/comedian, Lil’ Rel. Arnold writes,
”Powerful. That’s right. Toot your own horn when nobody else will. Proud of you. Continue to remember where and what you came from and move forward through life with LOVE. The rest will follow. Great post.

Mother to singer Beyoncé, Tina Lawson, adds how she loves her spirit.
”You are an inspiration and I love you and your spirit.”
In her 2017 book, The Black Unicorn, Haddish said in addition to growing up at her grandmother’s home, she spent time in foster care between ages 13 and 18. In her teens, the comedian was molested, bullied, slapped, and was exposed to marijuana smoke.
Haddish opened up earlier this month revealing an emotional post about her feelings, expressing that she feels a considerable amount of “hurt” in her life, but she’s not entirely sure where that hurt actually comes from.
Haddish wrote:
“Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night so hurt. I don’t know if it’s from my past, from something right now, or what is to come. All I do know is, I Thank God for letting me wake up and I cry away the hurt so I can clear space for what feels Good Love and success.”
