Phaedra Parks Dating ‘The Haves And The Have Nots’ Actor Medina Islam: We Met On A Dating App!

Phaedra Parks doesn’t stay without a man for too long! Parks is off the market again and dating actor Medina Islam. He currently plays Quincy Tyler Perry’s The Haves and The Have Nots. The Newark, New Jersey native is also the Urban Initiatives Director for real estate firm Propy.

Parks confirmed she’s in a relationship and said she’s “happy” and “excited” after finding a “tall, dark and handsome” man on the internet.

This is Parks’ newest relationship after her divorce from Apollo Nida was finalized in 2017. They were married for almost five years and have two sons, Dylan, 6 and Ayden, 9. Parks filed for divorce in 2014 after Nida pleaded guilty to fraud charges. He was released from jail earlier this year.

After Nida, Parks briefly dated Chicago radio personality Tone Kapone. The Jasmine Brand broke the story that they called it quits in May.

Parks said of her new love life,

“I didn’t date for four years and so I put my foot into the man pond I guess about nine months to a year ago. I dated a guy and that didn’t quite work out and so I found another guy that’s more suitable for me and I’m quite excited and happy about him. He’s very smart, very intelligent. He’s kind, we are both socially active. He’s really sober and smart. He’s a great father. So I’m excited about it.”

While she didn’t say his name, reports swirl that she’s referring to Medina. They are said to have met through the dating app Raya. Parks said he actually signed up to meet her.

“We’ve been in the same circles for some years, but he heard that I was on this dating site and he joined to meet me. You choose someone and if they like you back, they send a rocket blast. And so the rocket blast came through and I answered the call.”

It looks like they’re also making their way to becoming Instagram official.

While we know about Parks’ relationship history, Medina’s isn’t as high-profile. But fans might remember he once dated Claudia Jordan.

She told The Jasmine Brand back in 2016,

“We’re definitely together and he’s the most amazing man I’ve ever met. Smart, talented and beautiful inside and out.”

Interestingly enough, Parks and Jordan starred in The Real Housewives of Atlanta together in season 7.
