“Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” Spin-off On the Way
“In West Philadelphia, born and raised!” Are 90’s Will Smith fans finally getting what they’ve been asking for? According to new reports, the answer is, ‘Yes!’ Reportedly Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s Westbrook Inc. is prepping a reboot of the popular sitcom, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
Unbeknownst to the public, the veteran rapper/actor prepped fans for the news by launching a Bel-Air Athletics capsule collection of shirts and sweats similar to the clothing worn on his show.

However, it appears a change of heart has been made within the past couple of years. When asked if a reboot was possible in 2016, Will quickly shut the idea down:
“I don’t think ever, like pretty close to when hell freezes over. Like we’re going to leave that one alone.”

Alfonso Ribeiro said the death of James Avery (known as Uncle Phil to the show’s fans) would make rebooting impossible:
“I think it’s impossible with James Avery being gone… Without him, everything that Will and Carlton did would mean nothing – it’s a bunch of kids acting stupid. There had to be jeopardy, and the way Uncle Phil was going to handle it was the other side of making what Will and Carlton did work. Without him, there is no The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. I’m sure a [reboot] could happen, but I continue to say I think it’s very unlikely.”
