Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Jones Fined By NFL For Taunting Cowboys’ Byron Jones
Green Bay Packers star, Aaron Jones, 24, was fined by the NFL for waving goodbye to Dallas Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones during his run into the end zone last Sunday (Oct 6th). The subtle gesture in their 34-24 win over the Cowboys will cost the Packers cornerback more than $10,000. Jones, who added an extra layer onto his 6-yard carry, took to Twitter to celebrate. He writes,
“Since we are in Texas, down in El Paso, we say ‘HASTA LA VISTA BABY’”

According to reports, although the taunt did not draw a penalty, the NFL confirmed Friday (Oct 11th), announced Jones was fined $10,527 by for,

Jones said while the wave wasn’t worth the fine, he’s pleased with the photo op. He says,
“I can’t say it was worth it, but the picture is a dope picture. I can’t argue with that. I’m going to have that blown up one day in my house. I definitely got a nice picture out of it, but it hurts my pocket a little bit. I want that money.”

Jones continues, revealing he was motivated by the on field trash talk.
“Throughout the game it gets chippy, and I’m not a guy who starts talking trash. But once you start talking trash to me, I usually don’t stop. I’m going to let you know when I make a play.”
The star running back plans to appeal the ruling by the league, claiming he wasn’t waving at anyone in particular, he was,
“Just in the zone.”
After their victory on Sunday, Jones now leads the NFL with 8 rushing TDs this season. He is tied for the second-highest total through a team’s first five games since 2000.
