Stephen A. Smith Feuds With NFL’s Eric Reid Over His Remarks About Colin Kaepernick’s Workout – Maybe The Enemy Is You!

ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith took to social media over the weekend (Nov. 16th), sharing his thoughts on the Colin Kaepernick and NFL turmoil. In an 3-minute video, Smith, 52, questions Kapernick’s intentions of making his 3-year return to the NFL. Smith also says the former quarterback NFL career is over following his actions of switching location 3-hours before the scheduled workout,

“You don’t want to work, you just want to make noise. It’s over – Colin Kaepernick’s aspiration in the NFL.”

After Smith’s video went viral, close friend and former NFL teammate, Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid recently who called out the NFL calling the event a PR stunt, responded to Smith’s video on Saturday night. In his response, the safety says Smith was “tap dancing for the NFL.” Reid adds how Kaepernick has trust issues within the league after being shut out for the last 3-years.

“Damn straight Colin wants to control the narrative! He supposed to trust the organization that blackballed him and has done absolutely nothing in good faith??? Born on Tuesday, just not last Tuesday.”

In response, Smith reacted, indicating Reid was hypocritical and called the NFL player, “childish.”

“Maybe the enemy is YOU, your childish tendencies and your unwillingness to accept that you can’t run a damn thing but so much when your hand is out for someone else’s dime or product.”

The following day, Reid continued their online feud on Sunday (Nov. 17th), calling the ESPN analyst, Philadelphia Eagles player Malcolm Jenkins, and Roc Nation founder, Jay-z.

In a lengthy reply, Smith called Reid out for tweeting hours before playing a game and said Reid went through the same process Kaepernick is supposed to go through, and Reid is still in the league.

“I still respect the hell out of your immature, belligerent self. But I’m going to call it like I see it. Kaepernick made a mistake the way he handled all this…….IF he really wants a job in the NFL. Period. And your contribution to all of this doesn’t help. It hurts. It ain’t about you being wrong. It’s about you needing to grow the hell up. Your decision. Your life. Do you!”

After the private workout over the weekend, the free-agent quarterback spoke with the media on having a second opportunity to be apart of a roster. In his message, the social justice activist puts the league on notice, calling out league commissioner, Roger Goodell and all 32 owners to “stop running” from him. Kaepernick says,

“I’ve been ready for three years. I’ve been denied for three years. We all know why I came out here. [I] showed it today in front of everybody. We have nothing to hide. So we’re waiting for the 32 owners, 32 teams, Roger Goodell, all of them stop running. Stop running from the truth. Stop running from the people.”
