Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi Emotionally Reflects On Winning The Crown: Of All The Countries & Amazing Women, The Universe Chose Me
Zozibini Tunzi had a moment of gratitude as it really sank in that she is the new Miss Universe. Zozibini Tunzi, who represented South Africa in the prestigious competition, was crowned with the title earlier this month.
Zozibini Tunzi wrote on Twitter that she was filled with emotion when the victory hit her weeks after winning.
She wrote Friday (Dec. 20),
“For the first time yesterday I set alone and I cried so much. I think I’ve been running on shock and adrenaline that I hadn’t really processed what has just happened in my life. I cried tears of joy playing over and over in my head when Steve announced SA as the new Miss Universe”

“Me..Zozibini Tunzi, Miss Universe. Of all the countries and amazing women, the universe chose me. My life has been changed forever, I do not take that for granted. Never have I been filled with so much gratitude. God is good”

“It was so strange because even a lot of people I knew, people that were my friends, were like, ‘Sis, we love you, but we’re just saying, maybe you should put on a wig or buy a weave. I decided, no, this is not worth it. I decided that I just want to go for a different look. I’m going to cut my hair and see how it looks from there. And I just remember looking into the mirror and loving it.”
“I was like, ‘No, you know what, I’m going to do it the way I am, because I’ve been with my natural hair for the past three years.’ I don’t see why I should change it just because I’m stepping into another platform.”
Congrats to Zozibini on her big win!
