Nicki Minaj Denies Clarifying Controversial Rosa Parks Lyric: Had No Clue Anyone Was Mad, Don’t Care
What a way to kick off Black History Month.
Don’t get it twisted, Nicki Minaj isn’t apologizing for her controversial lyrics about Civil Rights great Rosa Parks.
The rapper has already been stirring up discussion since her return to social media after a nearly three-month hiatus.

She teased her upcoming single “Yikes”, which has already gotten a bit of backlash.
Nicki Minaj raps in the song,
“All you b****es Rosa Parks // Uh oh, get your a** up”

Rosa Parks’ infamous refusal to move to the back of the bus to give a white man her seat is one of the moments that launched the Civil Rights movement in 1955.
So, it’s no surprise that fans took to Twitter to respond with mixed reactions.

Rosa Park’s nephew said the activist would be “hurt” by the lyric.
He told TMZ,
“It was both heart breaking and disrespectful that Nicki Minaj would have a lyric in a song that can be used negatively when mentioning someone who provided her the freedoms that she has today.”
Still, Nicki Minaj isn’t taking back the lyric. In fact, she denied a report that claimed she apologized and meant no disrespect.
“Never said this. Had no clue anyone was mad. Don’t care. #Yikes”
