On Monday (March 2nd) a Texas federal judge granted the 25-year-old rapper a temporary restraining order. According to Billboard, she took the “extraordinary step” of filing for a temporary restraining order because her label was instructing the distributor of her records

“not to release or distribute any of her new music.”

She also adds that she had new music scheduled for Friday (March 6th) and if it isn’t, it will “have a devastating impact, and cause irreparable injury” to her career.

A judge ordered 1501 Entertainment “to do nothing to prevent the release, distribution, and sale of Pete’s new records,” “to refrain from threatening or posting any threatening any retaliatory social media posts or threats against Pete,” to “refrain from threatening anyone associated with Pete or trying to prevent or limit others from working with Pete” and “to not intentionally falsify, alter, spoil, hide, transfer, or otherwise destroy any documents, evidence or recordings related to Pete in any way.”

Megan The Stallion is asking a judge to declare her “unconscionable” recording contract with 1501 void, saying that despite the fact that she has more than 1 billion streams and sold more than 300,000 individual track downloads — earning an estimated $7 million in revenue — she has only been paid $15,000 by the label.

According to the court documents, Megan Thee Stallion notes that ever since she brought on Roc Nation as her manager in September 2019, she has been “attacked, and threatened on social media”. She suggests that Crawford and 1501 Certified Entertainment are behind those attacks. As an example, she points out that an old mug shot of her recently went viral. She discussed the mugshot on social media, after the story began to go viral.

She reportedly also used a recent social media post that Carl Crawford posted as evidence. In the post, Carl poses with J.Prince and captioned it:

“1501 Certified Ent — At a time when loyalty is at an all time low it’s nice to be link with @Jprincerespect who is steady teaching me how to move in this cutthroat industry 100 and I know that terrifies some especially the ones who double cross me #Paybacksabitch.”

See the post below.

In the lawsuit, Megan also claims Carl Crawford has used his relationship with Rap-a-Lot Records founder J. Prince to intimidate people in the industry, according to TMZ. She also claims that Crawford pressured a producer to hand over beats by saying Prince would be pissed.

She is reportedly suing Carl Crawford and his label for at least $1 million in damages.

Megan has yet to speak publicly about the legal matter, but tweeted the following:

Carl Crawford has yet to respond.
