Nicki Minaj Initially Struggled w/ Her Verse On Doja Cat’s ‘Say So Remix’: I Couldn’t Catch The Beat For The Life Of Me
Nicki Minaj has had a very successful week as she landed her first Hot 100 #1 song thanks to her verse on the “Say So” remix with Doja Cat. But she has since taken to Twitter to reveal her struggle with her iconic verse.
Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to explain how she got on the song and tweeted,
“I guess I never answered this & I c u guys chatting. I got a text from josh @ my label saying they got a request from her label. About 2 weeks later, I got another text from Jeff @ mngmnt. I sat on it for a while cuz I couldn’t catch the beat for the life of me really.”

Nicki continued,
“I was in full quarantine/hiatus mode. No social media. Had no clue what was going on in the music world.”

When the single first came out, Nicki Minaj also had to address the rumors that her last verses were directed towards her long-time enemy Wendy Williams.

She insisted that wasn’t the case. Nicki posted this message to her Instagram Story and shut down that rumor:
“The line ain’t about Wendy tho #SaySoRemix”
