Spike Lee Refuses To Go To Movie Theaters Until A COVID-19 Vaccine Is Manufactured: You F*ck Around & Get Killed!
Academy Award-winning director Spike Lee isn’t taking the deadly outbreak of the coronavirus lightly. Hollywood production – along with most activities involving human interaction – has been put on pause since mid-March. Spike Lee says he not only isn’t making any movie magic at the moment, but he’s also not going to movie theaters until there’s a COVID-19 vaccine. Spike says:
“They ain’t doing a thing until the vaccine. I know I’m not going to a movie theater. I know I’m not going to a Broadway show. I know I’m not going to Yankee Stadium. Corona is a b*tch. Corona is not playing. You f*ck around you’re going to get killed, you’re going to die. I’m not ready to go.”

He continued:
“How are you going to do a love scene anymore, or an intimate scene? I mean, are you going to do a movie by remote, like ‘Saturday Night Live’? I don’t know how you do that. So, we’re on pause now.”
On the other hand, Tyler Perry is resuming production on his own terms. After losing a long-time crew member to the virus, Tyler Perry’s had hundreds of crew members tested and is taking “military efforts” to safely continue working. He previously said,

“People pull up in their cars to get the test, and then they park. All the cars will be wiped down inside, sanitized and parked in the parking lot. Then their bags will come on to a belt, where we will have them open them and show them how to clean their bags and all their other stuff before they go into the rooms. We’re giving packing instructions before they come — to come with minimal things and wipe everything down — and then [cleaning again] as they get there, just as an added measure of precaution that we’re not bringing the virus in. One of our stages will be our receiving area, where everything will come into and get sanitized before it goes into our quarantined area.”
Meanwhile, Spike Lee is releasing his latest film, Da 5 Bloods, via Netflix on June 12th as the county continues to practice social distancing and quarantine.
