Mike Tyson & Roy Jones Fight Postponed Until November
Update #2 (8/11/20): Fans will have to wait to see Mike Tyson and Roy Jones battle each other in the ring.
Their highly-anticipated fight has been pushed back to Nov. 28th. It was originally supposed to take place on Sept. 12.
Mike Tyson’s team reportedly requested the change in an effort to make as much money as possible. Event organizers also wanted more time to land international TV deals and make a decision on airing the fight on pay-per-view.
Original Story (7/23/20): Professional Boxer Mike Tyson,54, made the announcement today (July 23rd) that he’s going to be fighting Roy Jones Jr.51
The highly anticipated fight will take place on September 12th in California in an 8-round exhibition called “Frontline Battle.” The fight will be available on Pay-per-view and on social media platform, Triller.
The legendary fight will be sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission, and will feature some of the top names in music for musical performances.
Mike Tyson has reportedly been talking about a comeback fight for months, and we’re told the legend has gotten some “massive” offers.
The Triller app reportedly put up some “big bucks to land the rights to his first comeback fight.”
Triller also has the rights to a 10-part docu-series featuring Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. documenting the two legends, preparing for their fight. With 2 episodes dropping every week until fight night, that will stream on the platform.
Roy Jones Jr. who recently fought in Feb. 2018, holds titles in 4 different weight classes – middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight.
Mike Tyson hasn’t had a professional fight since, June 2005, he allegedly battled substance abuse and weight issues after he stepped away from the sport.

Actor/ Singer Jamie Foxx recently confirmed that the long awaited Mike Tyson biopic is moving forward. Jamie confirmed the film stating:
“a definitive yes. Look, doing biographies is a tough thing, sometimes it takes 20 years to get them done. But we officially got the real ball rolling.”
