Kodak Black Wants President Donald Trump To Get Him Out Of Jail, Files Petition Through Lawyers
Kodak Black is calling on President Donald Trump to help him get released from prison.
Kodak Black’s lawyers Bradford Cohen and Jonathan Schwartz sent a petition to Donald Trump in an effort to get him out early.
They said in the petition, according to TMZ, that Kodak Black, who’s serving his time in a Kentucky federal prison, was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison on gun charges, but that the average sentence time for the crime is only 18 months. They added that Kodak Black shouldn’t be held in a maximum-security federal prison and that the Bureau of Prisons made a mistake when it categorized Kodak Black as a level 4 based on his past crimes. They argue that he’s only a level 2, so he should serve his time at a lower security facility.
They continue and claim that he’s receiving unfair treatment after being involved in an altercation that left a guard in the Miami facility where Kodak was previously held injured. Cohen said that Kodak should’ve only gotten sentenced to six months, but got 1 year instead. He’s reportedly been in lockdown for a year, and his attorneys are the only ones who are allowed to visit or call him.
Cohen also added that Kodak Black has been charitable over the years, and said that this should also be considered when ruling on an early release.
The request comes after Kodak Black filed a lawsuit against the Bureau of Prisons, claiming he has been tortured while behind bars.
This isn’t the first time Kodak Black has called on Donald Trump. He said back in April that he wanted a meeting with the president.
