Dave Chappelle Reportedly Purchasing An Ohio Fire Station To Convert Into Comedy Club
Comedian extraordinaire Dave Chappelle is making his mark in his hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio after reportedly finalizing the purchase of a building that was once the YSDC Fire Station to convert into a comedy club.
Dave Chappelle, whose father taught at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, partly grew up in the town which still holds a special place in his heart. Over the years, Dave Chappelle has continued to perform comedy shows in Yellow Springs, where he currently resides. His social distancing and mask-wearing pop-up shows have been known to bring revenue to businesses that would otherwise be suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, it seems as though the “Chappelle’s Show” star is ready to make things a bit more official by purchasing what was once the Miami Flagship Fire Station in Yellow Springs to convert into a comedy club, currently dubbed Fire House.
Reportedly, after a months-long negotiation process, the deal has been finalized following a development plan that Dave Chappelle’s company submitted for review. According to Dayton outlet, WDTN, job creation, local impact, environmental impact, and diversity were among the factors considered by the subcommittee.
As for the Fire House club, the WDTN outlet reportedly obtained a rendered image of the future club where the planned interior layout was displayed, featuring areas for dining and performance, as well as multiple green rooms and a box office.
