“Sex and the City” Series Will Return Without Kim Cattrall, New Series Called “And Just Like That…”
A “Sex and the City” revival is officially in the works. According to reports, a revival of the hit HBO series will air on HBO Max.
The new series will be called “And Just Like That…”. It will star Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, will not return.
The revival will follow Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes as they navigate love and friendship in their 50s. See a teaser below.
The three cast members will also executive produce, along with Michael Patrick King. 10 half-hour episodes have been ordered and production will begin in late spring.
Sex and the City was a romantic comedy-drama television series created by Darren Star for HBO.
It is an adaptation of Candace Bushnell’s 1997 book of the same name. The series premiered in the United States on June 6, 1998, and concluded on February 22, 2004, with 94 episodes broadcast over six seasons.
The series spawned two feature films, Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010), and a prequel television series commissioned by The CW, The Carrie Diaries (2013–14).
