Halle Berry’s Monthly Child Support Payments Cut In Half To $8,000 After She Called It ‘Extortion’
Halle Berry received a win in court concerning child support payments for her daughter Nahla, 13, that she shares with her ex, Gabriel Aubrey.
According to The Daily Mail, the X-Men actress will now only have to pay $8,000 a month. She was reportedly paying $16,000 a month after a 2014 court order.
Halle Berry will have to pay Gabriel Aubrey a one-time payment of $85,000 for retroactive support, as well as $5,000 for his legal fees.
She will continue to cover Nahla’s private school fees and health insurance.
The monthly payments could increase if her salary is higher than $1.95 million a year.
Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubrey said they would discuss any future disagreements with a private judge instead of going through the court system.
Last month, Halle Berry, who also has a seven-year-old son Maceo with her ex-husband Olivier Martinez, made headlines after she called child support payments “outdated” and “extortion.”
She told one commenter who said she had to pay alimony and child support to someone who called her “the N-word”,
“…and it takes great strength eryday to pay it. and BTW it’s wrong and it’s extortion !”
