LeBron James Reacts To An Ohio Bar Owner Refusing To Play NBA Games Because Of His Controversial Tweet
A Cincinnati, Ohio bar owner, is making headlines as he refuses to play any NBA games at his establishment until LeBron James is “expelled” from the league. The refusal is seemingly in response to James’ now deleted Tweet regarding the police shooting that took place in Columbus, Ohio, on Apr.20 claiming the life of Ma’khia Bryant. As previously reported, On Wednesday (April 21), James shared a photo of officer, Nicholas Reardon, who fatally shot Bryant. The picture of Reardon, who is white, was accompanied with the caption, “YOU’RE NEXT #ACCOUNTABILITY,” followed up with an hourglass emoji.

While LeBron James later deleted the Tweet, it still caught they eye of many social media users. James explained his reason behind deleting his now viral tweet.
“I’m so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police. I took the tweet down because its being used to create more hate -This isn’t about one officer it’s about the entire system and they always use our words to create more racism. I am so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY.”

‘Linnie’s Pub’ owner, Jay Linneman took to Facebook to announce his refusal of playing NBA games at his establishment.
“If anyone wants to watch an NBA game, don’t come to Linnie’s Pub. We will not air them until Lebron James been expelled from the NBA.”
Linneman added that he believes basketball players “just need to play the game and that’s it” and “their opinion doesn’t really matter.”

LeBron James caught wind of Linneman’s message and gave a seemingly sarcastic response. On Saturday (Apr.24), James wrote,
“Aww Damn. I was headed there to watch our game tonight and have a drink! Welp.”

It is unclear if Linneman has seen James’ recent tweet, but it’s safe to say, LeBron James has no plans on visiting his pub anytime soon.
