Chrissy Teigen’s Cookware Line No Longer On Macy’s Website Amid Courtney Stodden Controversy, 2nd Retailer To Seemingly Drop Brand
Update #2 (May 17th): Just days after it was announced that Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings cookware line was pulled from Target, it looks like Macy’s has followed suit.
Products from the line were first marked “unavailable” on the website, according to reports.
When shoppers look for the line in the search box, they’re met with a message that reads,
“We couldn’t find a match for your search.”
Original Story (May 14th): Just after her controversy regarding Courtney Stodden, Target has parted ways with Chrissy Teigen and her cookware line, Cravings by Chrissy Teigen.
Earlier this week, Courtney Stodden–who uses they/them pronouns–referenced how Chrissy Teigen told them to kill themself at just 16 years of age. For context, Chrissy Teigen‘s hateful tweets were sent in the wake of Courtney Stodden‘s marriage to 50-year-old actor Doug Hutchinson at 16. Courtney Stodden told The Daily Beast:
“[Chrissy Teigen] wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take ‘a dirt nap’ but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself. Things like, ‘I can’t wait for you to die.'”
Shortly after these allegations, Teigen issued a public apology to Stodden, saying that she used to be “an insecure, attention-seeking troll.”
In response, Courtney Stodden claimed that they had not yet heard from Chrissy Teigen and was even blocked by her on Twitter. Stodden also alleged that Teigen was only trying to save face in order to save her business partnerships, specifically with Target.
However, it looks like the retail giant has recently parted ways with Chrissy Teigen and Cravings by Chrissy Teigen, as the cookware line is no longer on the website. Despite this, the reasons are allegedly unrelated to her incident with Courtney Stodden.
According to TMZ, the decision was mutually made way back in December. Specifically, Teigen wanted to end her exclusive partnership with Target in order to sell her cookware line through more retailers. Thus, Chrissy Teigen wasn’t pulled from Target as a result of her incident with Courtney Stodden. In fact, the sources’ information would mean that this was a business decision made by Teigen herself six months ago!
Target-goers can still find Chrissy Teigen‘s three cookbooks, but her cookware line will now be sold through other retailers and online vendors, such as her own website.
