Tracee Ellis Ross On Societal Pressure To Get Married: Shut Up, I’ve Got So Many Things To Do
Tracee Ellis Ross is never one to shy away from speaking on her relationship status.
In a new interview with Marie Clare, she shared her thoughts on the societal pressure to tie the knot.
The Black-ish actress, who covers the magazine for its June 2021 issue, was asked if she ever wishes she had a more “traditional” life.
“Well, how could you not? Our society spoon-feeds it to you.”
She continued,
“I used to put myself to sleep dreaming of my wedding. And I would still love all of that, but what am I going to do, just sit around waiting? Shut up. I’ve got so many things to do.”
In October, the Pattern founder said even though she’s “happily single” she hopes to be in a relationship. She added,
“But in my wonderful and robust experience of being single, I have learned to have a productive relationship with loneliness and an intensely juicy relationship with my joyful solitude — I really enjoy my company.”
