Last year she performed at the VMAs pre-show with her younger sister, Halle Bailey, in their two-person group, Chloe x Halle. But this time she’s taking the VMA stage alone.
The two started the year off making separate Instagram accounts as Halle Bailey filmed the new live-action Little Mermaid movie in London.
While Halle Bailey was overseas, Chlöe Bailey continued acting in the hit show, Grown-ish and establishing her independence. From the TikTok ‘Buss It Challenge’ to singing covers of popular songs, Chlöe Bailey revealed a whole new side to her fans. She recently teased her first solo song called “Have Mercy.”

Although fans are excited to see 23-year-old Chlöe perform by herself for the first time, many took to the VMA’s Instagram to ask why singer Normani is not a part of the VMA lineup. She recently released a hit song called “Wild Side” featuring rapper Cardi B.
The song debuted at #14 on The Billboard Hot 100 chart and fans are demanding answers.
Many fans expressed their desire to have both singers at the show.
Normani, 25, took to Twitter herself earlier this month to confirm that no one has reached out to her. Normani responded to a tweet from Cardi B that said she hoped Normani and Lizzo would be hitting the stage and replied,
“they haven’t booked me yet”
Cardi B also tweeted that Normani deserves to perform.
Normani appeared to call out the VMAs as she added,
“CULTURE MATTERS… but they forget”
She also clarified that her label, RCA has “been doing everything in their power” to get her on the lineup.
The “We Want Normani” posts just keep pouring in and Normani has made it clear that she sees her fans telling the VMAs to give her a spot.
