Caitlyn Jenner Loses Her Bid For California State Governor With Approximately 1% Of Votes
Caitlyn Jenner will not be the next governor of California.
Yesterday (Tuesday, Sept. 14th) marked the end of California’s gubernatorial recall election. Numerous Republican politicians vied to take Governor Gavin Newsom‘s position, but he ultimately won the election and was not recalled.
One of the political figures who ran in the recall election was Caitlyn Jenner. The former Olympian and reality star announced her bid back in April, and she dubbed her campaign “Caitlyn for California.” During her political bid, Caitlyn Jenner made controversial statements about prison reform and transgender girls participating in all-girl sports.

She also notably claimed she would “cancel cancel culture and wake up the woke.”

However, Caitlyn Jenner has officially lost the California recall election. Caitlyn Jenner reportedly only received about 1% of votes–around 55,000. Meanwhile, Gavin Newsom received about 5.8 million votes to stay in office, and conservative frontrunner Larry Elder got about 2.3 million.
After she lost, Caitlyn Jenner acknowledged the situation during a press conference. She said:
“[Gavin Newsom] didn’t campaign to do this campaign, this recall, on not one of his successes. Because he doesn’t have any. And I can’t believe that this many people actually voted to keep him in office. It’s a shame. Honestly, it’s a shame. You kind of get the government you deserve. “
Caitlyn Jenner also thanked her campaign team for assisting her in her debut political bid.
