Tupac Shakur: Wake Me When I’m Free Exhibit To Open In Los Angeles Next Year

A new experience is coming for fans of Tupac Shakur

On Tuesday, 11/2, the Shakur Estate announced Tupac Shakur: Wake Me When Im Free Exhibit, a thought-provoking experience that will explore the career and life of the late rapper.

On the new exhibit, Arron Saxe, president of Kinfolk Management + Media said,

“There are thousands of pieces of paper, handwritten pieces of paper which is everything from his lyrics to all of the songs and poetry that you know down to a grocery list for a birthday party.”

He continued,

“There are incredible pieces of clothing. This exhibit is also a mix of contemporary art and technology too. Many of the artifacts have never been seen before.”

He added,

“The whole point of this exhibit was to not only show the kaleidoscopic nature of Tupac, but also show how he is relatable.”

In addition to Tupac Shakur, one gallery will also showcase his mother, Afeni Shakur, the former Black Panther who passed away in 2016.

Back in September of 1996, Tupac Shakur was involved in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. The ‘Dear Mama‘ rapper later died from gun shot wounds, at the age of 25.

As previously reported, the BMW that the rapper was killed in was being sold for $1.7 million. Despite the car’s grim history, the vehicle has been owned by various different collectors.

The 20,000 square foot exhibit will open in January 2022 in L.A. for six months.
