Future Appears To Claim That He Can ‘Win A Verzuz’ Against Jay-Z
Is Future challenging Jay-Z to a Verzuz battle?
This past Tuesday night (Dec. 21st), Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) made headlines for addressing whether or not he would ever participate in a Verzuz battle. While in a Twitter Space with Alicia Keys, the rapper the rapper specifically stated:
“No one can stand on that stage with me. It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me… That ain’t never going to happen.”
After this remark, many people began sharing their thoughts on the matter. While most appeared to agree with Jay-Z, one rapper didn’t share this sentiment: Future (real name Nayvadius Wilburn).
Earlier today (Thursday, Dec. 23rd), Future re-shared a post on his Instagram Story that challenged Jay-Z‘s claim. The upload read:
“I Promise You, ErrBody From Atlanta Feels Like Pluto Can Win A Verzuz Against Hov!”

While Future isn’t the one who originally created the post, his re-share appears to suggest that he agrees with the statement.
Additionally, it’s also worth noting that–about a week ago–Future made a series of tweets where he claimed he was bigger than Jay-Z “in the streets.” He also claimed he was “legendary” and was the only rapper who essentially had Kanye West at his beck and call.

Future has not further commented on the matter, and Jay-Z has not publicly responded.
