Symone Sanders, Former Spokeswoman For Vice President Kamala Harris, Lands MSNBC Hosting Gig
Symone D. Sanders, a senior advisor and chief spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris is leaving the White House and heading to MSNBC! Sanders will host multiple programs for the network including a weekend program on MSNBC’s linear cable channel, and a show on its streaming platform, The Choice. In addition, she will also be a fill-in anchor for the network, presumably for some of its primetime talent. Reportedly, Symone Sanders, 32, is the most prominent member of the Biden White House to shift from politics into a full-time job in the news media.

While details such as the format, title and time slots are to be determined, reportedly her shows will focus on exploring
“issues at the intersection of politics, culture and race and break down how decisions made in Washington impact electorates, industries, and communities across the country.”
In December, Symone Sanders announced her plans to leave the White House and reportedly received interest from multiple news outlets, including CNN. It comes as no surprise, as Sanders has a lot of experience under her belt. Before joining the White House last year, Sanders served as a senior adviser to President Biden’s 2020 campaign, and she was the national press secretary for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign. She also worked as a CNN contributor after leaving the Sanders campaign.
In a recent interview, Symone spoke about joining MSNBC and how she’s excited to bring more to the table than just political content.
“I’m a young woman, a young Black woman from the Midwest. Yes, I do politics, but I’m also a consumer of pop culture. I watch the news, I check Twitter, but I’m also into ‘Real Housewives.’ I’m interested in reaching what I call the nonpolitical group chats, the discussions that are penetrating outside of Washington.”
