Black Lives Matter Pays $100,000 To Bail Out Kentucky Activist Accused Of Attempting To Murder Louisville Mayoral Candidate
Quintez Brown is a free man for the time being, thanks to the Black Lives Matter organization.
21-year-old Kentucky activist Quintez Brown, who is suspected of trying to kill Louisville mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg, is out on bail.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (February 16th), Quintez Brown’s $100,000 cash bond was posted by the Louisville Community Bail Fund, an extension of Black Lives Matter Louisville. This comes days after Brown was arrested for allegedly firing multiple shots inside the Louisville office of mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg.

Brown’s lawyers, as well as his fellow Kentucky activists, say Brown’s unstable mental health is the cause for his actions, and insists that he needs PTSD assistance – not to be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Black Lives Matter Louisville organizer Chanelle Helm, who co-founded the bail fund, believes that Brown will be safer out of jail stating:
“In this case, we’re dealing with someone that has mental health issues. They are calling for this individual, this young man who needs support and help, to be punished to the full extent.”

She continued:
“It is a resounding message that people are down for the torture that has taken place in our jails and prisons.”
Brown – who formerly placed a bid for Louisville mayor, has done work recognized by political icon Al Sharpton, had a 2018 feature on MSNBC, and became the forefront of the Kentucky activism movement following the murder of Breonna Taylor – was charged for attempted murder and four counts of wanton endangerment for allegedly firing shots near Greenberg’s staffers.

Police say they believe Brown was acting alone, and are still investigating a motive for the shooting.
