The investigation into the death of actor Michael K. Williams is moving forward.
On Wednesday (March 2nd), the four men arrested for selling the late actor a fentanyl laced batch of heroin – which ultimately resulted in the 54-year-old star’s death – plead not guilty to narcotics conspiracy charges.
In early February, after federal investigators suspected “foul play” while looking into the accidental overdose death of “The Wire” star Michael K. Williams, four Brooklyn based drug cartel members were arrested in connection to the late actors death and an ongoing drug ring.

According to reports, Irvin “Green Eyes” Cartegena, is accused of handing the “Lovecraft Country” star the laced drugs in a caught-on-video transaction. Hector Robles, Luis Cruz, and Carlos Macci were also arrested in connection to the actors death. Reportedly, they are members of the drug crew that continued to sell fentanyl laced heroin throughout Brooklyn despite knowing that Michael K. Williams had died after consuming it.
The four men arrived to their Manhattan Federal Court hearing to enter their pleas of not guilty to narcotics conspiracy resulting in death earlier this week. If tried and convicted, Cartegena, Robles, Cruz, and Macci face a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison.
