Will Smith’s Upcoming Netflix Movie ‘Fast and Loose’ & ‘Bad Boys Four’ Put On Hold Following Oscars Slap
The fallout from the Will Smith, Chris Rock Oscars debacle continues.
According to reports, two of the Oscar winning actors upcoming movie projects have been halted with uncertain futures. Including the much anticipated fourth installment of the “Bad Boys” franchise.

“King Richard” star Will Smith has been dealing with the consequences of infamously slapping comedian Chris Rock at this years Oscars. The smack came after Chris told an insensitive joke about Will’s balding wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Jada has openly shared about her ongoing battle with alopecia and the struggles she faces.

Winning his first ever Oscar on the same night, Will won the “best actor” category for his portrayal of Richard Williams, tennis coach and father to Venus and Serena Williams. Shortly after the smack, however, the awards academy stated there was “heavy consideration” to rescind the 53-year-old actors award. Will issued an apology to the academy and Chris over the hit via social media. Subsequently announcing his resignation from the academy.
Reports now state that Will is also facing the possibility of losing out on two movie deals. According to reports, ‘Bad Boys 4’, where Will co-stars as a Miami narcotics detective alongside Martin Lawrence, has been stalled by Sony. Additionally, his upcoming project with Netflix ‘”Fast & Loose” has lost traction. Industry sources say studios want to assess Will’s public standing before investing more money to further the projects.
Sony, Netflix, nor Apple – who is set to release a slave thriller starring Will this year – has made any public statements regarding plans to drop or move forward with these projects.
