Trump Campaign Ordered To Pay Omarosa $1.3 Million In Legal Fees Following Unsuccessful Lawsuit Attempt
Great news for Omarosa, not-so-great news for former president Donald Trump.
Following an unsuccessful breach of contract lawsuit, a judge ordered Donald Trump’s presidential campaign to pay the legal fees of former political aide Omarosa Manigault Newman. According to reports, Omarosa Manigault Newman, 48, released a book back in 2018 detailing her experience working on the 45th presidential cabinet. In the novel titled “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” Omarosa called the former president Donald Trump, 75, a “racist, a bigot, and a misogynist” and shared other exclusive details of her time in the White House.
Donald Trump’s legal campaign swiftly sought legal action, claiming that Omarosa’s book violated nondisclosure agreements. In September of last year, the lawsuit that had been ongoing since 2018 was finally brought to an end by a court arbitrator. Reportedly, the arbitrator stated the terms of the NDA were “highly problematic,” claiming the ambiguous nature of the wording would render Omarosa incapable of knowing when she was in breach of contract.

Additionally, the TV personality stated that while she had signed an NDA while working on the Trump campaign prior to him being elected, she never signed one for her work in the White House.

Ruling that the nondisclosure agreement was invalid and “unenforceable” under New York law, Omarosa was awarded $1.3 million to cover legal fees spent fighting the suit. Shortly after the award amount was announced, Omarosa took to her Twitter account to celebrate. In one tweet she wrote:
“First year law student vs. #45’s entire legal team. (David vs. Goliath)… … Now pardon me as I get back to studying for my Contract Law final exam.”
