Garcelle Beauvais Recalls ‘Eerie’ Encounter She Had At Bill Cosby’s Home: Something Told Me, ‘Get Out Of There’
In her new memoir “Love Me As I Am,“ Garcelle Beauvais, 55, opens up about her personal life, journey to fame, and a bothersome encounter she had with disgraced Hollywood figure Bill Cosby, 84.
During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s “Bevelations” with host Bevy Smith, Garcelle Beauvais–who made an appearance on “The Cosby Show” in 1984– recalled the “eerie” feeling she experienced when she went to Bill Cosby’s home. Garcelle explained,
“I felt like when I got to his brownstone that I wasn’t the only one there besides him. There was something eerie about not knowing if there’s anybody else in the house and then having, you know, him asking me if I wanna drink, and I wasn’t a drinker. So it was all those things.”
Garcelle Beauvais says she listened to her instincts,
“And then something told me, ‘Get out of there.’ And that’s exactly what I did.”

As previously reported, Well-known comedian/actor Bill Cosby was imprisoned in 2018 after being convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in his Pennsylvania home in 2004. Initially, Cosby was sentenced to 3-10 years behind bars, however, the conviction was ultimately overturned by Pennsylvania Supreme Court on the grounds that Cosby’s due process rights had been violated. Last fall, Montgomery County DA, Kevin Steele, petitioned for the U.S. Supreme Court to reinstate Cosby‘s sexual assault conviction.
In March, the Supreme Court rejected an appeal of a Pennsylvania court ruling that overturned Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction. This means that despite prosecutors’ attempt to have the famous comedian set back to jail, he will remain a free man.

Garcelle Beauvais briefly explained in her book why she chose to share her experience two years after Bill Cosby was convicted.
“You know, my kids were little [back then], and my divorce [from Mike Nilon was going on], I didn’t wanna drag them into it. And I felt like I didn’t have anything concrete…It would’ve been me just piling on, and I wouldn’t want people to think that, ‘oh, I just wanted to be part of that and have my name out there.’ I included it in the book because it was a part, it was a part of listening to your gut.”
