The case stems from an arrest on March 22, 2021 during an attempted federal warrant conducted by federal agents and the Los Angeles Police Department from a previous 2020 Louisiana arrest. While pulling YoungBoy over in a vehicle, police discovered an FN, model FNX-45, .45 ACP caliber gun in the floorboard of his Maybach SUV.

YoungBoy, real name Kentrell Gaulden, was charged with having possessed “a specific FN .45 caliber pistol” and ammo within the Central District of California. He was eventually released from jail on house arrest via a $1.5 million bond in October.
As previously reported, the Baton Rouge rapper and his legal team filed paperwork in an effort to stop the government’s attempts at including his song lyrics in his gun possession case. According to the verdict, it looks like YoungBoy and his defense team secured a big win regardless!
