Lil Uzi Vert Changes Pronouns To ‘They/Them’ On Instagram
Lil Uzi Vert is letting the world know how they want to be addressed!
Lil Uzi Vert, born Symere Woods, updated their pronouns to “they/them” in their Instagram bio on Sunday, July 17.

The 26-year-old rapper has yet to officially address the update, but he did seemingly confirm the pronoun change for fans via Twitter. A social media user wrote “Yo they” and Lil Uzi Vert simply replied,
“Yo yeat.”

As you may already know, they/them pronouns are usually used by individuals who identify as non-binary, which is an umbrella term for gender identities that are not solely male or female. Lil Uzi Vert has always been a rapper who seemingly isn’t afraid to stand in his truth and often rocks gender-fluid clothing.
During a 2018 interview with Blavity, Lil Uzi Vert was asked why they sometimes wear dresses. They replied,
“I bought everything in the men’s section. There’s nothing else to buy, I bought everything, literally.”
Many social media users weighed in on Lil Uzi Vert’s pronouns.

A few other celebrities who use they/them pronouns are Demi Lovato, Janelle Monáe, Sam Smith, and Amandla Stenberg.
