Ne-Yo Files Motion To Have Estranged Wife Crystal Renay Banned From Speaking About Divorce Publicly, Claims To Have Lost Over $400k In Deals Due To Her “Reckless And Distasteful Acts”

Grammy award winning artist Ne-Yo is taking legal action in his pending divorce from Crystal Renay.

According to a report from Radar Online, the 42-year-old musician is asking a court judge to find his estranged wife in contempt of court. Reportedly, the filing alleges that Crystal Renay, 36, has broken their court agreement not to “harass” one another as their divorce settlement negotiations proceed. Ne-Yo claims that social media posts and interviews that Renay has done disparaging him has cost him a significant amount in business opportunities. Thus, is asking a judge to prevent her from speaking about the divorce until the matter has concluded.

As previously reported, Renay asked for both child and spousal support after serving her husband of six years with divorce papers back in July. In an emotional instagram post, the mother of three accused Ne-Yo of being a serial cheater and fathering a child outside of their marriage.

The “Miss Independent” singer reportedly responded to Renay’s request, stating that he would pay child support but wants joint physical custody of their three young children. As far as the spousal support, we reported earlier this month that Ne-Yo expressed to the court he doesn’t believe he should be forced to pay it. Reportedly, he also is asking to have living ownership of the Georgia home they share together.

In the most recent court filing, Ne-Yo expressed discomfort with Renay’s alleged “sympathy seeking” media performance.The legal doc reportedly states that Renay’s comments to paparazzi and recent interview with producer Carlos King has cost him significant financial injury. Speaking about his estranged wife’s actions he calls “reckless and distasteful”, the motion reportedly reads:

“To date, [Ne-Yo] has loss approximately $400,000 in wages associated with public appearances, professional bookings, and promotional efforts related to the promotion of his new musical project”

Ne-Yo is reportedly seeking to have Renay remove all social media posts regarding him and their marriage, and ban her from speaking on the matters in the future.
