Wendy Williams’ Rep Denies Talk Show Host ‘Lost Her Fortune’ Following Her Son Being Evicted From $2 Million Apartment: ‘Wendy’s Hands Are Tied’
Wendy Williams and her team are shutting down claims she has lost her fortune after her son Kevin Hunter Jr. was evicted from his Miami apartment due to the talk show host’s issues with her bank, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Wendy’s publicist Shawn Zanotti is now speaking out about the situation and denying the entertainer has lost all her money. Zanotti told The Neighborhood Talk that Wendy Williams is still under conservatorship and funds cannot be released without approval.
Zanotti said,
“At this point, Wendy is under a conservatorship that was ordered by a federal New York judge. All expenses must be cleared by her guardian via the courts. There is a process where her expenses have to go through being verified and cleared before being paid.”
According to Zanotti, this process can take a while which caused Williams to sometimes miss payment deadlines.
“Wendy’s hands are tied and there is really nothing she can do right now. It’s a process that tends to go beyond the deadline of certain invoices. She, honestly, can’t do anything about that.”
As previously reported, Wendy William’s son Kevin Hunter Jr, has been evicted from his luxury $2 million Miami apartment and was hit with a 69k lawsuit for back rent.
According to the US Sun, the eviction suit was filed in August. The site reports that,
“The lease started in March 2021 and ended in February this year. After it had passed, Kevin agreed to continue to rent the apartment on a monthly basis.
As it came to the end of the lease, Wendy had some health issues which led to the court being put in charge of her finances after her Wells Fargo accounts were frozen in January.”
As you may recall, Wendy Williams was placed in a financial guardianship after Wells Fargo froze her bank account assuming the former talk show host battles
“financial exploitation, dementia or undue influence.”
The court-appointed guardian means the battle with Wells Fargo to unfreeze her bank accounts is complete. The financial guardian, along with Williams and the courts, will now be in charge of determining how she will access her funds.
In response to the lawsuit, Kevin Hunter Jr. told the court he was without funds because his mom had been fighting Wells Fargo.
Kevin explained in his filing that his mother had rented the apartment for him and that because of her health issues, all of the financial support he received from her stopped, including his housing.
Kevin explained in court,
“All of this happened suddenly and all of the financial support that she always gave me stopped, including my housing. Even though my name is on the lease my mom was paying, and for medical and legal reasons, she has not been able to pay the rent for the past months since the 1-year lease ended and the court has controlled her finances.”
According to the lawsuit, he is currently a full-time student but had taken a year out of school because of COVID and looking after Wendy. He had also told the court the situation spiraled very quickly and unexpectedly and he did not know things would end up how they did.
