Kevin Hunter Responds To Backlash For Suggesting Ashanti Got A BBL: I Salute All Her Natural Assets & Was Merely Posing A Question

Most people are taught not to ask a lady about her age or weight. However, Kevin Hunter could not help himself when it came to Grammy-winning singer Ashanti.

The “Foolish” singer’s voluptuous figure seemingly had Kevin Hunter, 51, wondering if she got her shape from her mama or a doctor. Instead of remaining in the dark, the former producer of “The Wendy Williams Show” decided to get to the bottom of it by posing a question on his IG story.

Kevin Hunter shared a throwback image of a younger Ashanti, 42, from her 27th birthday party rocking a pink tee and dark-colored jeans. Kevin captioned the image with,

“Iono, that’s alotta weight gain since 2007, No hate queen but BODY DONE?”

It wasn’t long until Kevin found himself in the hot seat for his interesting question, with many social media users wondering why he asked or cared about Ashanti’s shape.

While Kevin probably thought he was just asking a simple question, he was seemingly not expecting so much backlash from the public. This is a similar reaction that Ashanti’s former label executive Irv Gotti received earlier this year for comments made about the “John Tucker Must Die” star. As previously reported, when the Murder Inc. executive claimed they had an intimate relationship in a very colorful way on “Drink Champs,” Ashanti’s fans wasted no time coming to her defense.

Unlike Irv Gotti, Kevin threw up the white flag and retracted his original statement about Ashanti. In a new text post, he shared,

“Look I think Ashanti is a beautiful black woman!…I have posted a number of positive posts that no one ever runs with. In this day and time, it is not uncommon for people to have surgery…My question was for my page…I’m not a blogger nor am I trying to be or disrespect her in anyway…I SALUTE all her natural assets and was merely posing a question…SALUTE to her and all her accomplishments. ERRbody CALM DOWN!”

 Ashanti’s shape was also once a “hot topic” for Kevin’s ex-wife In 2017. During an episode of the former talk show, Wendy Williams compared Ashanti to a stripper.

“You’re forty something years old at this point, nobody cares about your music. I call you an exotic dancer…you’ve got a beautiful body and you’re using it to make your bones, and that is the fact, jack.”

Wendy Williams’ comments were in response to Ashanti’s heated debate with media personality Joe Budden on his former talk show “Everyday Struggle.” Ashanti and Joe Budden were discussing a concert where the singer was seen telling fans not to throw dollar bills onstage while she performed. Joe Budden then implied Ashanti had been treated like a stripper because of her clothing.
