YSL Rapper Yak Gotti’s Mother Arrested After Attempting To Smuggle Him Tobacco
A YSL member’s mother is willing to do anything for her son, even if that lands her behind bars.
According to reports, YSL rapper Yak Gotti’s mother, Latasha Kendrick, was caught by officers trying to smuggle her son tobacco in a Fulton County courthouse. Latasha Kendrick, 51, was charged with one count of criminal attempts to commit a misdemeanor.

Prosecutors claim she and Nyesha Cox, Yak Gotti’s baby’s mother, concealed tobacco in personal items to be delivered to the rapper. Latasha Kendrick was immediately arrested. Law enforcement issued a warrant to arrest Nyesha Cox, but she has yet to be detained. Prosecutors are accusing Yak Gotti of multiple crimes in the YSL RICO case – including the murder of Donavan “Nut” Thomas Jr.
As you may know, the alleged founder of the reported YSL gang Young Thug, real name Jeffery Lamar Williams, is being accused of running an illegal gang operation under his record label. Jury selection for his trial is underway.
As previously reported, Young Thug was arrested in May 2022, along with fellow rapper Gunna, real name Sergio Kitchens, and multiple other individuals associated with the alleged criminal street gang. They were charged in a 56-count Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) indictment.
Gunna was released in Dec. after entering a negotiated plea, known as an Alford plea. The four-year remaining balance on his sentence has been suspended and subjected to special conditions, including completing 500 hours of community service.
