Black Mafia Family’s First Lady Tonesa Wells Slams Series’ Writers For Alleged Inaccuracies In La La’s Portrayal Of Her: ‘They Have Markisha Looking Like A Pedophile’
Black Mafia Family’s first lady Tonesha Welch is not happy with the way “BMF” is depicting her in the drama series.
After catching up on season two of “BMF” on Tuesday (Feb. 7) Tonesha Welch wrote a lengthy statement on Instagram calling out the show’s writers for portraying her to seemingly be a pedophile. Tonesha Welch, whose life reportedly inspired the character Markaisha Taylor played by actress La La Anthony in the show, explained:
“WTF who wrote this part of the Story. Terri 17 I’m 26 years my Husband a king pen but I’m having sex with a 17 year old who’s supposedly still in high school. So before Terri goes on the run he comes to my job, its close for the day we sneak in the janitors room and have Sex. I guess he’s to young to have an apartment he’s still in high school or lives with his parents. I guess they have Markisha looking like a pedophile.”
As you may already know, Rapper and media producer 50 Cent brought the Flenory brothers’ story to life via television in 2021 with his STARZ series “Black Mafia Family.” Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory is played by his biological son, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr., while his brother Terry “Southwest T” Flenory is played by actor Da’Vinchi. Amid season two, 17-year-old Terry Flenory romances 26-year-old Markaisha Taylor. In her IG statement, Tonesha Welch blasted the writers for this relationship dynamic. She wrote:
“If This was reverse and Markisha was 17 years old y’all be trying to put him in jail. Why are they portraying this role like this. Omg RandyHuggins this is sad. I never kiss this man until he was i25 years old. This is crazy. This is what happens when you hire the wrong representative.”
The 42-year-old then pleaded:
“Please no more DM’s don’t ask me why I can’t explain it. But half y’all believe this sick shtt. Markisha character is shown in bad likeness I don’t agree with the timeline or the character traits. This show pretends it’s not me but everybody in Detroit or half the country know it’s me. Who else work at the insurance company?”
The infamous Black Mafia Family was a drug trafficking and money laundering empire founded in Detroit by brothers Demetrius Flenory and Terry Flenory. In 2005 things came crashing down once the feds dismantled their empire, indicting all members affiliated with BMF. In 2008, Big Meech and Southwest T were sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of running one of the largest drug trafficking rings in Michigan’s history.
According to reports, Tonesha Welch — Southwest T’s former longtime girlfriend — became introduced to the money, power, and street lifestyle during her early teen years. By 19 years old, she was acquainted with BMF and living the life of a rich Hollywood figure.
She previously shared:
“I tell people all the time it’s like a habit … it’s an addiction. I had to have it. I had to have this money, I had to do this, I had to. It was crazy. It’s like I was on a high. You were on a high just doing something, making moves and getting away with it. It’s the whole power of it all, the way people looked at you. Then, once you come down, you’re like, ‘What was I doing?’”
After Welch was arrested with her peers, she was sentenced to 57 months in prison. She previously explained how it felt to know her freedom would soon become a distant memory. She said:
“It was the worst nightmare ever. I was on a high for about 48 hours. I’d been in those drug addicted years. I was always partying … I don’t know what I was celebrating. It was like I was celebrating going to prison — who does that shi*? Me and my friends, we partied so hard. So when I first walked in, I was still on this bender going in, and I had to turn myself in like at 11:30 a.m. in Victorville.”
She continued:
“The only thing I could think of was to hurry up and get processed. I wanted to go lay in a bed. I just wanted to hurry up and get processed. But when I woke up, I’m looking around, like, ‘Wait, what happened here?’ When I came down off of that high, it was the worst feeling ever. I felt like crap. I felt like, ‘How do you go from 1,000 count sheets, king beds, flying private to sleeping in here in prison?’ It was the lowest of the low, but I had to go through it. I had to have that crash.”
Today, Big Meech remains behind bars until 2028, while Southwest T was set free in 2020 after a judge granted him a compassionate release over COVID-19 concerns.
