Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Have No Plans To Sue Over ‘South Park’ Episode Mocking Them, Despite What Reports Claim
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry aren’t here for “South Park’s” comedy but they’re not interested in taking legal action for the jokes aimed at them.
According to reports, the couple apparently doesn’t think “South Park’s” latest episode is funny. Comedy Central debuted an episode last week called “The Worldwide Privacy Tour” which seemingly mocks Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry’s decision to leave the royal family and live their lives in private. After the episode aired, a source claimed Meghan Markle is supposedly “upset and overwhelmed” by the episode.
Reportedly, another insider even alleged that the episode could spark a lawsuit.
“Their legal team are casting an eye over the episode to see what is wrong, and what could be turned into something more sinister. This appears to be their course of action rather than laughing it off, enjoying the moment and showing the world that they get the joke.”
However, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has shared the couple doesn’t plan to sue over the episode, claiming they think the lawsuit accusations are “all frankly nonsense. Totally baseless, boring reports.”
It’s important to note that, although many feel the comedy series’ latest episode is aimed at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they were not directly named. Also, the episode began with a disclaimer announcing that all characters are fictional, despite the scenario seemingly being based on real people.
In the episode, the “wife” character, seemingly referring to Markle, is illustrated as a “sorority girl, actress, influencer, and victim.” In the animated comedy, the couple seeks privacy while also doing what they can to get attention for themselves.
In other Duke and Duchess of Sussex news, Harry, 38, accuses his brother Prince William, 40, of striking him to the ground in his upcoming autobiography. Supposedly, the 2019 argument was focused on Harry’s wife. In the book, Harry details the incident, writing that his brother “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor.” He also alleges William taunted him into fighting back after the argument escalated to being physical. Harry allegedly forfeited, leaving his brother with apologetic regret.
