O’Shea Jackson Jr. Jokingly Calls Out Rapper Logic For Turning His Dad’s Rap Song ‘It Was A Good Day’ Into A Singing Ballad & Mentioning His Mother
It looks like O’Shea Jackson Jr. wasn’t too fond of Logic’s rendition of his dad’s classic song “It Was A Good Day.”
On Monday (Mar.6), Logic shared a live performance cover of Ice Cube‘s 1992 song and quickly garnered attention on social media.
One user wrote:
“He makes me dislike him more and more no one asked for this.”
Another person said,
“I thought it was a joke, then realized the length of the video and thought oh no logic doin this sh*t fo real?!?”
Someone else said,
“Stopped listening as soon as he said the N-word. I don’t care if he’s mixed, the aesthetics are awful. This how folks get too comfortable.”
Another person who had an opinion about the cover was Ice Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson Jr. While others were bothered that Logic dropped the N-word, O’Shea was more concerned about the rapper mentioning his mother’s name.
He tweeted,
“I respect logic. “I think he can rap. And that’s all I really need. But bruh….if if ever hear you sing about my mother again… it’s gone be a misunderstanding lmaoooo!”

On the hit song, Ice Cube raps about his wife Kimberly and says,
“I got a beep from Kim, and she can f*ck all night.”
When a fan tweeted O’Shea saying they didn’t know Kim was his mom, the actor admitted how hearing that line in the song is pretty awkward for him.
He explained,
“Imagine having to be your pops hype man and doing that part. I’ll wait… pretty awkward right… So now when either me or my brother [on] stage with him the line is ‘I got a beep from HER’ instead of my moms name.”

Logic has yet to respond to O’Shea’s comment.
It appears Logic is busy promoting his new album “College Park” which dropped last month. The 17-track album includes features from RZA, Bun B, Fat Trel, Redman, Joey Bada$$, Norah Jones, and more.
