Damon Dash Ordered To Hand Over Tax Returns As Filmmaker Josh Webber Tries To Collect $800K Judgment
Dame Dash might be handing over 6 figures soon over a copyright infringement and defamation lawsuit.
According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, record executive Dame Dash, real name Damon Dash, was ordered by a judge to turn over his tax returns for 2021 and 2022 for review so a court can analyze his assets. Reportedly, the request to look into Dame Dash’s finances was made by filmmaker Josh Webber, who is attempting to collect the funds owed to him by Dash following his 2019 court victory.

As previously reported, director Josh Webber and Muddy Water Pictures sued the Roc-A-Fella co-founder for copyright infringement and defamation in 2019 following claims of Dash attempting to call the 2016 film “Dear Frank,” his own after he was fired for allegedly being high on set. They also claimed that the 51-year-old changed the movie title to “The List.”
Three years later, a jury awarded Josh Webber and Muddy Water Pictures $30,000 for copyright infringement and $125,000 in punitive damages. Webber was also granted $400,000 in compensatory damages and $250,000 in punitive damages. However, Dash has yet to pay the final verdict, which is over $800,000.
