Travis Scott — Attorney Of Youngest Astroworld Victim, 10-Year-Old Ezra Blount, Slams Rapper’s Team For Accusing Authorities Of Releasing Astroworld Report To Hurt His New Album Sales
Is Travis Scott being insensitive to the family of 10-year-old Ezra Blount, the youngest Astroworld victim who passed away at the rapper’s concert back in 2021?
According to reports, Bob Hilliard, the lawyer representing the family of the late Ezra Blount, is criticizing Travis Scott’s camp for accusing authorities of trying to hurt the sales of his fourth solo album “Utopia.” This comes after the Houston Police Department released a 1,266-page investigative report about Travis Scott’s 2021 Astroworld Festival — which ended in tragedy.
Bob Hilliard said,
“For an artist making his living with music, these are stunningly tone-deaf comments about this preventable tragedy that took so many lives and injured so many.”
In regards to the claims from the rap star’s team, he went on,
“Of course they would only focus on how the report’s release date hurts their album sales instead of the facts contained inside of the report.”
Bob Hilliard added,
“For Mr. Scott to allow his lawyers and spokespeople to make the reckless and untrue statement that just because he was not indicted means he’s blame-free is arrogant and insulting to the memory of 10-year-old Ezra as well as the other victims of this terrible night.”
As previously reported, on November 5, 2021, Travis Scott held his annual Astroworld music festival in his hometown of Houston, Texas. During the event, concertgoers reportedly rushed the venue, which resulted in a fatal crowd crush. Thousands of attendees were injured and ten people died from compressive asphyxiation, including Ezra Blount who succumbed to vital organ failure. Scott and concert organizers face hundreds of lawsuits for his music festival gone wrong. In addition to others, a lawsuit issued by the Blount family is currently pending.
Scott has since claimed he wasn’t aware of what was taking place on the festival grounds during his performance. As of recently, reports revealed that Scott will not be facing criminal charges for the multiple lives that were lost during the event. A representative for the rap artist claimed that,
“Travis Scott will not be charged with criminal charges or any wrongdoing for his involvement with Astroworld festival.”
