Fugees Member Pras’ Former Attorney Pleads Guilty To Leaking Evidence In Rapper’s Federal Conspiracy Trial
Looks like Fugees band member Pras hasn’t been the only one committing crimes.
According to reports, the musician’s former attorney David Keener recently pled guilty to evidence tampering charges after being accused of leaking info to the press.

Reportedly, David Keener submitted his admission following speculation that he shared confidential federal grand jury files pertaining to Prakazrel ‘Pras’ Michel’s criminal case last year. If you recall, Michel was convicted of accepting $100 million to help Malaysian businessman Jho Low gain political influence in the US. Investigations found that Michel illegally funneled some of that money into Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign, as well as put funding into the Leonardo DiCaprio film “The Wolf of Wall Street.” He was convicted on several charges, including conspiracy to defraud the US, witness tampering, and acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government. Michel is still awaiting his sentencing at this time.

Keener shared his disappointment at the guilty verdict when the trial concluded, and claimed they would be moving to appeal the decision immediately. Now facing his own conviction, however, it doesn’t seem the legal professional will be involved in Michel’s legal matters moving forward. Reports state that Kenner confirmed he did violate court rules by exposing the sealed documents before the trial began. He pled guilty to contempt of court this past Thursday (January 25th).

Reportedly, Michel’s new representation reacted to Keener’s guilty plea, blasting him for costing the celebrity his freedom. His new attorneys reportedly stated:
“Unfortunately…former attorney David Kenner failed at every turn to competently represent Pras over the course of this lengthy legal battle.”

It’s unclear what kind of sentencing Keener will face for his actions at this time.
