Waka Flocka Wants Judge To Seal Records In Divorce From Estranged Wife Tammy Rivera Following Ex’s Online Feud w/ His New Girlfriend
One celebrity couple’s divorce may not play out in front of the public.
As previously reported, “Love & Hip Hop” alum Tammy Rivera revealed that she and her ex, rapper Waka Flocka, are still legally married. The revelation came as she had a somewhat heated internet back-and-forth exchange with Waka Flocka’s girlfriend Melanie Montalvo. You may recall that the “No Hands” artist first went Instagram official with his new leading lady in January. Initially, everything seemed fine between the former love birds as Charli – Tammy Rivera’s daughter and Waka Flocka’s step-daughter – slid into the post’s comment section and wrote,
“Leave my father alone he is happy and my mother is happy both in separate relationships”

Waka, born Juaquin Malphurs, added his own comment, saying,
“If y’all really loved me and Tammy respectfully can y’all respect our personal life’s”

However, things eventually took a sharp turn earlier this month when Tammy Rivera and Melanie Montalvo fired off a few shots at one another online. Amid their dispute, Tammy confirmed she has also moved on but is still legally married to Waka. In a comment explaining why she still communicates with the rapper, the businesswoman said,
“sweetie we talked cause our daughter and to be honest we still legally married so we have to talk cause we have business that has to be handled together until them papers are signed! Grown ppl buisness”

The ladies have since retreated to their respective corners, but it seems like Waka is taking the steps needed to ensure no more drama surrounding him makes headlines. According to a report from RadarOnline, the Atlanta entertainer recently pleaded for a confidentiality order in his ongoing divorce case. Reportedly, Waka argued the divorce records, including their financial information, should be sealed because he and Tammy are public figures.
His motion purportedly also asked the judge to order all parties,
“to refrain from discussing the proceedings and any aspect of the proceedings in the media to include but not limited to social media, print media, internet, radio, and or television media.”
A judge has yet to rule on the matter, according to the report.
Waka and Tammy tied the knot in 2014. They allegedly separated in December 2021 and in May 2023, Waka filed for divorce from Tammy in a Georgia court. He purportedly listed the marriage as “irretrievably broken,” claiming there was “no reasonable hope of reconciliation” in the filing.
