Speaking about losing the super lightweight match, held this past Saturday (April 20th), Devin Haney, 25, wrote:
“Alhamdulillah Allah is the perfect planner he makes no mistakes.. fought like a true champion. Got up off the canvas & kept fighting. I am 100% ok & would love to do it again while we both make weight.”

Meanwhile Ryan Garcia, 25, has been mocking his colleague since winning the big match, claiming to have heard that Devin Haney’s jaw was fractured and poking fun at Haney’s expense in general. He wrote in one post:
“D**n Devin has a broken Jaw Allegedly The name of the game I suppose What’s next?”

And adding in another:
“This is why you don’t drink prime but respect to Haney for getting up everytime”

Haney went on to deny the rumor, stating that he’s ok and doesn’t have anything broken on his X account. Despite taking an L in the match, it’s reported that Haney and Garcia are likely to bring in a pretty penny from the fight. Reports state that due to TV contractual agreements, the exact number of what each boxer earned has not yet been revealed. Though Haney’s father and manager Bill Haney reportedly confirmed that his son will split the revenue 55/45 in favor of Garcia. It’s reported that the California native’s more than 10 million instagram and X followers gave him the edge in negotiations.

It’s also noted that Haney is said to have earned an extra $1.5 million since Garcia didn’t meet weight requirements, missing the mark by three pounds. Though unconfirmed, one report notes that Garcia’s promoter and former former boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya hinted during a recent interview that his client stands to earn $30 million from the fight.
