Gabourey Sidibe Welcomes Twins w/ Husband Brandon Frankel!

Congratulations are in order for Gabourey Sidibe!

It was revealed today (June 6) via The Shade Room that the American Horror Story actress and her husband Brandon Frankel have welcomed their twins into the world. The couple are now parents to a boy and a girl, named Cooper and Maya, respectively. The babies were born sometime in early April.

Speaking on the names of their children, Gabourey Sidibe shared,

“Brandon always wanted to name a son Cooper, so we can call him ‘Coop,’ and Maya was named shortly before our baby moon to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Both twins have traditional West African middle names after members of my family.”

She continued,

“They’re both extremely strong and hilarious, though they have yet to really interact with each other,” the star continued.”

And added,

“Cooper will sometimes speak for Maya and alert us that she’s about to spit up. Maya loves her name being sung to her and is the queen of comedic timing, and Cooper loves his sleep and has the funniest facial expressions. They both love cuddling with Mom and Dad.”

Gabourey Sidibe and Brandon Frankel married sometime in 2021. However, it wasn’t until December the following year that they revealed they made things official. During an interview on Live With Kelly and Ryan, (now titled Live with Kelly and Mark following Ryan Seacrest’s exit) Gabourey Sidibe revealed a wedding ring and said,

“Here’s an example of how much I don’t like weddings. I’m actually married. We got married over a year ago.”

Sidibe also waited to share the news of her pregnancy, not announcing it until 14 weeks ago in February of this year. Breaking the news on Instagram, she wrote,

“I’m pregnant! We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility so we’re giving them each a baby to take care of! Double the babies,double the cats, double the fun!! Twin Delivery coming soon!
Twinty Twinty Four!!”
