OG “Blade” star Wesley Snipes has weighed in on Marvel’s upcoming reboot facing some hiccups during the early stages of production.
The 61-year-old actor — who starred in the original “Blade” film trilogy — recently reacted to the Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot via X (formerly Twitter) following an announcement that a second director exited the project.

While appearing to poke fun at Marvel’s struggle to get the film off the ground, Wesley Snipes uploaded a GIF of himself as the beloved character Eric Brooks/Blade and captioned the post,
“Blade, lordylordylordy folks still lookin for the secret sauce, ridin snowmobiles in traffic, kinda rough.

As you may already know, reports revealed that Oscar winner Mahershala Ali is set to star as the day-walking vampire hunter in the new superhero movie.

The film’s first director, Bassam Tariq, exited the project two months before filming was set to begin in September 2022. News broke that the second director, Yann Demange, left the project earlier this month. However, despite an inconsistency in directors, multiple screenwriters have been picked up to create the film’s script.
“Blade” is reportedly set to release on November 7, 2025.
